TSAVO WEST – AMBOSELI SAFARI 3 DAYS/2 NIGHTS

DAY 1
5.30 am departure from Malindi towards Kilifi, a coastal town located about 45 minutes from Malindi. From here the discovery of the real Africa will begin, traveling for about 70km on a dirt road full of palm trees and for this reason nicknamed the road of the “Thousand Palms” (1.5 hours). After this panoramic route you will reach a very important highway for the economy of the country as it connects the coast with the northernmost regions and divides the Tsavo park into East and West.
After about 200 km (about 2 hours of highway) you will arrive at the entrance of the Tsavo West National Park (Tsavo River Gate), the place where the famous film “The Ghost and the Darkness” was filmed. After completing the formalities for entry into the park, the first photographic safari will begin towards the tented camp. Upon arrival, accommodation, lunch and time to rest.
H 15.30 departure for the visit to the rhino sanctuary, a protected area open to the public from 16 to 18 where it will be possible to see not only rhinos but all the other species that live in the savannah. Return for dinner and overnight stay.

2nd DAY
6.00 am wake up, 6.30 breakfast and at 7 am departure for Mzima Springs, natural springs that provide water for all of Mombasa and surrounding areas This spring is full of hippos, crocodiles and you will take a walk on a protected path escorted by rangers.
At the end of the visit you will head towards the exit of the Tsavo West park towards Amboseli (90km 2 hours approx.), travelling between the mountains of volcanic lava “Shetani Lava” with their lunar landscape.
After travelling this suggestive stretch you will enter the lands of the Masai tribe and you will meet their villages, the herds they graze and many monkeys.
Arrival at the tented camp located at the foot of Kilimanjaro, room assignment, lunch and relaxation.
3.30 pm departure to explore and discover the Amboseli national park and the animals that live there, in a habitat completely different from Tsavo. An unforgettable experience will be the view of the sunset reflecting on the snow of Kilimanjaro. Do not forget your camera or to recharge it during the stop at the lodge.
Return to the camp for a relaxing shower before dinner. Overnight stay.

After lunch departure for Malindi with two options:
- extra payment of € 40 to cross the Tsavo East park with an additional photographic safari and shortcut to return home (km 150 3 hours)
- retrace the palm road and from Kilifi the asphalt road to Malindi (200km 2.45 hours)
